Biography:
Stephen is a partner in the London corporate practice and a member of the firm’s technology transactions group. He acts as a trusted adviser to founders, high-growth companies, investors and management teams on corporate transactions. He has particular expertise on company sales and purchases, cross border mergers and acquisitions, and private equity and vc financings across a range of industry sectors.
Stephen has been included in The Legal 500 UK’s Hall of Fame. Prior to joining Akin, Stephen was head of corporate, London, at another U.S. headquartered law firm.
Representative Work:
- Advising digital health business Lumeon and its shareholders on the sale of the company to Health Catalyst, Inc.
- Advising Primary Capital on its significant investment in Diversity Travel, the specialist travel management company for aid agencies and charities throughout the world.
- Advising Sam Knows, a broadband monitoring business, and its shareholders on the sale of the company to Cisco.
- Advising ICG Life Sciences on its investment in the oversubscribed $50 million Series B financing expansion round in Grey Wolf Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotechnology company leveraging first-of-its-kind antigen modulation therapies to address the source of immune dysfunction in oncology and autoimmunity.
- Advising MTIP, the European healthtech growth equity investor, on its investment in Hexarad alongside existing investors. Hexard’s radiology platform provides teleradiology services and software to customers across the UK, Ireland and Saudi Arabia.
