Biography: Tuvia represents private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, credit funds and other investment management clients on a broad array of complex tax matters. He has a particular focus advising on the tax aspects of sophisticated transactions and investments. Tuvia guides clients through the complete investment life cycle, including in the structuring, fundraising, formation, carry plans, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and divestitures. He regularly advises clients on investment strategies involving preferred equity, debt offerings, loan origination and asset-backed finance. Tuvia has played a pivotal role in numerous high-profile acquisitions, monetizations and fund launches. He advises on transactions and investments across sectors, including asset management, financial services, technology, real estate, venture capital, health care and agtech, among others. Tuvia received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was active in the Federal Tax Clinic and the Harvard Legal Entrepreneurship Project. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Yeshiva University.
Representative Work: - Advised Mubadala Capital in connection with structuring and establishing the consortium for the acquisition of Fortress Investment Group. Mubadala Capital, the wholly owned asset management subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, has completed its acquisition of the 90.01% of the Fortress Investment Group equity that was held by SoftBank Group Corp. After the transaction, the consortium led by Mubadala Capital now owns 68% of Fortress equity. - Represented Apollo Global Management in the formation, fundraising and closing of its 10th flagship vehicle, Apollo Investment Fund X, which held its final close with approximately $20 billion in committed funds.
